“Paul A. Clark, the founder of the Fraternity of the Hidden Light, was a close personal student of Anne Davies, the spiritual successor of Paul Foster Case. Paul received many personal stories and sentiments about Paul Foster Case from Anne, mouth-to-ear. After Anne Davies death in 1975, the B.O.T.A underwent internal schism and turmoil with various factions vying for control of the Order.

In the summer of 1976, in the midst of this turmoil, Paul A. Clark (whom Anne Davies designated as one of the “Seven Stewards” tasked with protecting the continuity of the Order’s teachings) received a phone call and was instructed to meet with Prolocutor-General William Chesterman immediately at “little house”, which was the code-word for the house Anne Davies had lived in. When Paul Clark arrived, he was shown three large boxes. The first box contained the original copies of the Order’s materials as well as Paul Foster Case’s personal journals and materials which were being sent to a bank vault in downtown Los Angeles. The second box, a full copy of the same, was being sent to the Order’s offices in New Zealand for continuity. The third box contained the third “unofficial” copy of the records and was given to Paul Clark with the dispensation to start the Order anew should he feel directed that the need had arrived. Paul Clark had become the “fail-safe” to ensure the survival of the Order’s teachings.
